Affiliate Conduct, Fraud & Prohibited Activities

To protect our customers, our brand, and our partners, Etch & Lace maintains a zero‑tolerance policy for fraudulent or abusive behavior in our affiliate program.

By joining the Etch & Lace affiliate program, you agree to the following:

1. Honest promotion only

   • You will represent Etch & Lace and our products truthfully and accurately.
   • You will not make false, misleading, or exaggerated claims about our products, discounts, or policies.
   • You will not use spam tactics (unsolicited bulk messages, comment spam, or deceptive clickbait).
     
     

2. No fake or incentivized orders

   • You will not place fake orders, use stolen payment methods, or encourage others to do so.
   • You will not offer cash‑back, rebates, or any form of compensation to customers solely to generate tracked orders, unless explicitly approved in writing by Etch & Lace.
   • Orders that are fraudulent, canceled, refunded, or flagged as suspicious may be excluded from commission.
     
     

3. Self‑referrals and personal discounts

   • Reasonable personal use of your link or code is allowed, but we reserve the right to review and reverse commissions if we detect abuse (e.g., bulk personal orders made only to earn commission).
     
     

4. Prohibited traffic sources
   Unless you receive written approval from Etch & Lace, you may not:

   • Use coupon or deal sites whose primary purpose is generic discount aggregation.
   • Bid on our brand name, misspellings, or domain (e.g., “Etch & Lace”, “Etch and Lace”, “etchandlace.com”) in paid search ads.
   • Use any form of cookie stuffing, hidden iframes, forced clicks, or similar techniques to drop tracking cookies without a genuine, intentional click from the user.
     
     

5. Respect for our brand and values

   • You will not promote Etch & Lace on websites or channels that contain hate speech, explicit or adult content, illegal activity, or content that conflicts with our faith‑driven, family‑friendly values.
   • You will not use our brand name, logo, or product images in a way that misrepresents an official partnership or confuses customers about who is Etch & Lace and who is an independent affiliate.
     
     

6. Fraud monitoring & IP / account review

   • Etch & Lace and our affiliate platform (UpPromote) may monitor signups, clicks, and orders for suspicious patterns, including repeated activity from the same IP address, device, or email pattern. (Source: Fraud detection)
   • We may block or refuse referrals from specific IP addresses, block certain email addresses from joining, or hide our registration page from search engines to reduce spam and fraud. (Source: Fraud protection – Affiliate signups)
     
     

7. Right to review, withhold, or terminate

   • Etch & Lace reserves the right to review any affiliate account at any time.
   • We may withhold or reverse commissions, deactivate, or remove an affiliate from the program if we suspect:
     • Fraudulent orders or leads
     • Violation of these terms
     • Misalignment with our brand values or target audience
   • Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the program and forfeiture of unpaid commissions associated with fraudulent activity.
     
     

8. Ongoing approval

   • Approval into the Etch & Lace affiliate program is not guaranteed or permanent.
   • We may decline applications or deactivate existing affiliates at our discretion to protect our customers, our brand, and our community.

This Privacy Policy of UpPromote about Affiliate Marketing system describes how we may collect and use personal data and the rights granted to merchants, affiliates and customers regarding their respective data.

By joining the Affiliate program, you signify your approval of the terms set out in this Privacy Policy, and other terms and conditions. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you must not use the affiliate marketing system.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our privacy practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. By continuing to our affiliate program after these changes are posted, you agree to the revised policy.

Personal Information Controller

Any personal information provided to or gathered by UpPromote under this Privacy Notice will be stored and controlled by UpPromote (the data controller).

Information collected from Merchants

When merchant uses the app, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account such as email, first name, last name, shop information (shop domain, shop currency, shop address …). We collect this information to provide you with our Services; for example, to confirm your identity, contact you, provide customer support when you contact us, provide you with advertising and marketing activities.

Information collected from Affiliates

When an Affiliate signs up to join a program, we collect some information to inform merchants such as email, personal information, payment details and social network information,...The information would help merchant evaluate affiliate background and potential, along with process specific activities within the app and contact affiliate if needed.

Information collected from Customers when visiting merchant website

In order to track referral order, when customers visit merchant website and make a purchase, UpPromote system will collect information of order such as total order, order items, order ID,....

Use of UpPromote app by Children

UpPromote is not intended for children. If you are under 13, you may use the affiliate marketing system only with the supervision of your parent or guardian.

UpPromote understands that you have rights over your personal information, and takes reasonable steps to allow you to access, correct, amend, delete, port, or limit the use of your personal information. If you are using the system and wish to exercise these right, please contact us through etchandlace@gmail.com. We may require that you provide us with acceptable verification of your identity before providing access to such information.

If you are an affiliate and wish to exercise these rights, please contact the merchant you interacted with directly — we serve as a processor on their behalf, and can only forward your request to them to allow them to respond.
