Welcome to Matcha Union! Thanks for joining our Creators Program.
These Terms and Conditions apply to individuals who are accessing or using the Matcha Union Creators Program (the “Program”) as a creator or affiliate (“you”, “your” or “Creator”) and to Matcha Union (“we”, “us” or “Matcha Union”).
The Matcha Union Creators Program is designed for customers, creators and matcha lovers who genuinely enjoy Matcha Union and want to earn commission by sharing our products with their audience.
By participating in the Program, you agree to use the Program in the manner specified in these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety, you are not authorised to register for or participate in the Program.
1. Approve or Reject the Registration
We reserve the right to approve or reject any Creators Program registration at our sole and absolute discretion.
You will have no legal recourse against us for the rejection of your Creators Program registration.
Creators may be invited directly by Matcha Union or may apply to join the Program. Approval is required before a Creator can participate in the Program and receive Creator benefits.
2. Affiliate Links and Discount Codes
Once approved, you may receive a unique Matcha Union affiliate link and a personal discount code for your audience.
Sales may be attributed to you through your unique affiliate link and/or your unique Matcha Union discount code.
The standard Creator discount code provides customers with 10% off eligible Matcha Union products.
Affiliate links may be automatically generated through the Program. Where available, you may also be able to generate affiliate links for specific products or collections.
If a customer uses both your affiliate link and your discount code for the same order, you will not receive double commission. A qualifying order can only generate one commission payment.
You may only promote discount codes that have been assigned or approved for your account. If you have not been assigned a particular Matcha Union discount code, you are not permitted to promote that code as your own.
You may promote Matcha Union through appropriate online channels such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, websites, blogs, newsletters and other suitable platforms, as well as appropriate offline channels.
3. Commissions and Payment
How You Earn
You can earn commission by referring customers to Matcha Union through your unique affiliate link and/or discount code.
Your commission rate is based on your total approved attributed sales during each calendar month.
| Approved attributed sales per month | Commission rate | Customer discount |
|---|
| £0 – £299 | 10% | 10% |
| £300 – £999 | 15% | 10% |
| £1,000+ | 20% | 10% |
Your total approved attributed sales at the end of each calendar month determine your final commission rate for that month.
The final commission rate applies retrospectively to all eligible sales generated during that calendar month.
For example:
- £250 in approved monthly sales = 10% commission = £25
- £600 in approved monthly sales = 15% commission = £90
- £1,200 in approved monthly sales = 20% commission = £240
Commission rates and tier thresholds may change from time to time. If we make changes to the commission structure, we will notify Creators of the updated terms.
Commission Calculation
Commission is calculated on net eligible product revenue after the customer's discount has been applied.
Commission does not apply to VAT or other applicable taxes, shipping charges, cancelled orders, fully refunded orders, fraudulent transactions, chargebacks, purchases made by the Creator for themselves, or gift cards unless Matcha Union states otherwise.
Where an order is partially refunded, the related Creator commission may be adjusted accordingly.
Approved Sales
Only approved sales qualify for commission.
A sale becomes approved once the applicable refund window has passed and the order has not been cancelled, refunded or flagged as fraudulent.
Refunds, cancellations, chargebacks or other adjustments may remove or reduce the related commission from your balance.
Getting Paid
You are responsible for ensuring that your payment details are correctly added to your account Settings.
Creator payouts are processed on the 7th of each month, subject to the minimum payout threshold set out below.
You can track your earnings in the Commission section of your Creator account, and paid amounts will appear in the Payment section where available.
Minimum Payout
The minimum payout threshold is £100.
On the 7th of each month, if your approved payable balance is below £100, no payment will be made that month. Your balance will automatically carry forward and be combined with future approved commission.
For example, if your approved balance is £70 on one payout date, the £70 will carry forward. If you subsequently earn a further £60 in approved commission, your balance will become £130 and will be included in the next scheduled payout.
Fair Use
All referrals and commissions are subject to review.
Matcha Union reserves the right to delay, withhold, adjust or deny commission payments in cases involving fraud, policy violations, misuse of the Program, self-referrals, inappropriate marketing practices or other dishonest or unethical activity.
Commission earned through dishonest or unethical methods will not be paid.
4. Product Gifting, Bonuses and Marketing Tools
Product Gifting
Creators and influencers approached directly by Matcha Union may receive a complimentary 30g tin when approved, allowing them to try the product before creating content.
Existing Matcha Union customers who join the Program and Creators who apply directly will not normally receive a complimentary tin when joining. Instead, they are eligible for the first-sale bonus described below.
Any additional product gifting is at Matcha Union's discretion.
First Sale Bonus
Every Creator receives a complimentary 30g tin of Matcha Union after their first approved sale.
The first-sale bonus is provided once per Creator.
The qualifying sale must have passed the applicable refund window and must not have been cancelled, refunded or flagged as fraudulent.
Purchases made by the Creator for themselves do not count towards the first-sale bonus.
Additional Creator Benefits
Approved Matcha Union Creators may also receive access to benefits such as early access to selected launches, content ideas and campaign briefs, educational information about Matcha Union products, examples of successful content angles, opportunities to participate in special Creator campaigns, and complimentary products where appropriate.
From time to time, Matcha Union may also offer milestone rewards, seasonal bonuses or other Creator incentives. The availability, eligibility requirements and terms of these rewards may vary.
Top-performing Creators may be offered additional partnership opportunities, including individually agreed bonuses or commission arrangements.
Marketing Tools
We may provide promotional materials through the Program, including banners, logos, product photography, videos, campaign briefs, content ideas and other approved Matcha Union materials.
These materials may be used to promote Matcha Union through your approved Creator channels.
Where available, materials may be downloaded directly or shared using the tools provided through your Creator account.
5. Network
If the Network feature is activated, a Creator may be able to invite others to become their downstream Creator or affiliate.
If a downstream Creator generates an eligible order, the referring Creator may receive a network commission depending on the Program settings in effect at that time.
To invite another Creator into the Program through the Network feature, you must use the network link provided by the Program.
A Creator who clicks that link, applies and is approved may become your downstream Creator.
Network commission rates and eligibility are determined by Matcha Union's Program settings.
If the Network feature has not been activated, participation in the standard Creators Program does not automatically entitle a Creator to network commission.
6. Cookies and Attribution
We use cookies and/or other tracking methods to identify customers who have clicked on your affiliate link and to attribute qualifying sales to you.
Customers need to allow the relevant cookies or tracking technology for affiliate-link tracking to work correctly.
If a customer does not allow cookies, deletes their cookies or otherwise prevents tracking, we may not be able to track their activity through your affiliate link and therefore may not be able to attribute commission for that activity.
The applicable cookie or tracking period is displayed within the Program or Creator registration information.
The tracking period begins when a customer clicks your affiliate link.
During the applicable tracking period, qualifying purchases made by that customer may be attributed to you in accordance with the Program's tracking rules.
Orders may also be attributed to you through your unique Matcha Union discount code.
Matcha Union's tracking system will be used to determine attribution for the purposes of commission.
7. Removal from the Creators Program
If you wish to be removed from the Matcha Union Creators Program, you may do so by contacting info@matchaunion.com.
Following removal from the Program, you will no longer be entitled to participate in the Program or generate new Creator commissions.
Any outstanding commission remains subject to the Program's approval, payout and minimum payout requirements.
Go forward and create!
We're very glad you've made it to the end of this important document.
The Matcha Union Creators Program is intended for customers and creators who genuinely enjoy our matcha and want to share Matcha Union naturally with their audience.
We want Creators to create content in their own style rather than follow overly promotional scripts. The Program may provide content ideas, educational information, campaign briefs and other resources to help Creators share Matcha Union effectively.
We wish you all the best!
